From Beverly Hills to Miami to LA: 90210 (Fox) and Good Morning, Miami (NBC) alum Tiffany Thiessen joins the cast of What About Brian (ABC) as Brian and Adam’s manipulative new boss Natasha at KC Gaming.
Double-Duty: Denis Leary (Rescue Me) and Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) each got the go ahead on not one but two pilots this week. Leary’s prodco Apostle will oversee Cantebury Tales (Fox) about a female defense attorney who pushes the boundries to defend her clients and Fort Pit (NBC), based on the stories of ex-NYPD officer Rob Cea about the crooked upper ranks and helpless lower ranks of a Brooklyn police precinct. Schwartz, who saw The O.C. get canceled on Thursday, will helm action-comedy spy series Chuck (NBC) and Gossip Girl (CW) based on the popular books about privileged teenagers at an elite NYC private school.

Mysterious ways: In an interview with the BBC, newly knighted U2 frontman Sir Bono announced plans to take the band to the next level, which could be a more acoustic or even harder sound than what we’ve seen from the band as of late. U2 wrapped up their Vertigo tour last month, which became the second highest grossing tour of all time behind The Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang.
Free download: Those who caught the 12/4 episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC) saw a group of musicians from hurricane-ravaged New Orleans perform an incredible instrumental version of O Holy Night, which is available for free on NBC.com. Hybrid News o’ the Day: Rocker Dave Matthews has signed on to guest star this March on med series House (Fox). SPOILER ALERT: Matthews plays a musical savant, who gained his extraordinary ability to play the piano when he was hit by a car as a young child. After suffering a series of seziures, House must decide on a treatment which could cure the ailing musician and strip him of his musical talents.
